+ + + +3D audio is a weird science. +Basically the body (and shape of the ear) itself filters the sound which reaches each ear differently based on the direction of the incoming sound. +This is how we can tell what direction a sound is coming from. +And of course, all of our bodies are different, so we each hear differently, and thus there is no perfect solution to 3D audio. +While elevation cues are greatly effected by ear shape, azimuth (left to right) and distance cues are similar between most people. +
